Stepping Stone Mission of Franklin County Awarded Neighborhood Grant from The Starbucks Foundation
This grant recognizes the community impact the organization has in the area of food insecurity.
As part of The Starbucks Foundation’s Neighborhood Grants program, Stepping Stone Mission of Franklin County was selected to receive a $2,000 grant. This grant award is thanks to a nomination from a local Starbucks partner who recognized the work of this organization in fighting food insecurity in their community.

Through this unique partner-led community giving program, The Starbucks Foundation invites Starbucks partners and alumni to nominate a local organization in their community. Since 2019, more than 16,000 grants have been awarded to local organizations, amounting to more than $25 million. This year, Stepping Stone Mission of Franklin County was selected from among 56,000 nominations submitted by Starbucks partners.

Stepping Stone Mission of Franklin County is committed to fighting food insecurity by providing one hot, nutritious meal 365 days a year to those in need, serving as Franklin County’s only soup kitchen.  Additionally, the soup kitchen welcomes local agencies who provide additional resources, wellness services and financial assistance.
“This grant will directly support our daily meal service,” Staci Talley, President , Stepping Stone Mission. “With this funding, we will be able to purchase fresh produce, quality protein and the pantry staples vital to offering a nutritionally balanced daily meal to those in need in our area.”

The Starbucks Foundation’s Neighborhood Grants program supports grassroots, community-led
nonprofit organizations making a difference in their community. With Starbucks partners leading the way, Starbucks helps communities thrive. Neighborhood Grants also help build sustained local
impact and inspire increased partner (employee) engagement with nonprofit organizations and
charities that work in their communities.

“Starbucks has always been the community coffeehouse – a place where our partners (employees) build real connections. Through this latest round of Neighborhood Grants, they’ve nominated local
organizations making meaningful impact, from addressing hunger to supporting youth,” said Kelly
Goodejohn, executive director of The Starbucks Foundation. “We’re proud to support these efforts and the role our partners play in strengthening their communities.”
