Formed in 2025 through the merger of Miller, Long & Associates, Inc. and Vail Appraisal, LLC, MLA Valuation & Advisory unites decades of trusted expertise under one name. Led by Jared Schweitzer, MAI, SRA; Greg Mackey, MAI, AI-GRS; Chris Vail, MAI; and Matt Vail, MLA has become one of the largest and most respected real property valuation firm in the Mid-Atlantic.

We maintain a strict adherence to recognized industry standards, including the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), the Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions (UASFLA, commonly known as the Yellow Book) when applicable, and other established Standard Industry Guidelines, ensuring every valuation we deliver meets the highest level of professional integrity and regulatory compliance.

Every member of our team holds a Virginia Certified General or Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser license, with additional credentials extending into West Virginia. Our appraisers and advisors bring proven expertise across diverse industries, including:
