On Saturday, April 28 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., homeowners in the lovely South Roanoke neighborhood open their front doors for Hikes Hops and Homes and Gardens. This annual tour is hosted by Mill Mountain Garden Club and Roanoke Valley Garden Club. This year celebrates the 85th anniversary of Roanoke’s Historic Garden Week Tour and to mark the occasion three spectacular homes and three gardens will be open to the public. “People think this a home tour but it is much more” says Joyce Jaeger, chair of this year’s tour and member of Mill Mountain Garden Club. “It is dreamy to see the well-tended, and always unique gardens on the tour as well as the expert flower arrangements created by club members that fill the rooms of these lovely homes. The three homes on tour were built in the 1930’s and boast beautiful architectural details. Fresh renovations, new design trends, and the homeowners’ commitment to beautiful furnishings assure that gracious living is alive and well in Roanoke.” A Kick Off event, Tablescapes with 3 Gents, will be held on Thursday, April 19 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Provisions Gourmet and RSVP Limited, a household décor and kitchenware store on Electric Road.
