Aliens are invading our parks. Looking for a way to help out your local environment for Earth Day? We can help you there. Learn about the common invasive plant species around Smith Mountain Lake, and what you can do to help. Join a park interpreter on a short hike, and then have an invasive species removal party. We'll supply all tools and work gloves. Please dress for outdoor work and the weather. Parking fee is waived today for pre-registered volunteers assisting with this project.
Registration begins February 1, 2018 at Smith Mountain Lake State Park's Visitor Center. Please pre-register no later than by 4:00 pm, Friday, April 20. Call (540) 297-6066 for more information.
